Here's a handy hack to isolate a specific window rather than choosing the area manually that works on Windows and Mac.

1– Start by taking a normal screenshot

Do this either by clicking icon on your task bar or using the hotkey CMD+SHIFT+1 (Mac) or CTRL+SHIFT+1 (Win)

2– Just before you start dragging an area like a normal screenshot, press the space bar

After you trigger the screenshot, you'll see the normal cross hairs, but before you click and start dragging your mouse, press the space bar. The cross hairs will turn into a camera icon.

3– Move your mouse around without clicking to select different windows

While the camera icon is showing, just move the mouse from window to window and each window will highlight gray showing that it is selected. Once you have the window you want to screenshot, click the mouse button.

That's all she wrote.

Pro Tip: use the zoom option on your browser to get a close up view of your canvas and history thumbnails – CMD + (Mac) or CTRL + (Win)
